The code is public, and this is how to build it.

The source is on GitHub, linked from the foot of every page. You need Node.js and a toolchain for native modules, because the terminal component is compiled when you install.

sudo apt install -y build-essential python3
npm install
npm start

To build the AppImage yourself:

npm run dist

It is written to your Downloads folder. The documentation covers the rest, and the changelog records what changed in each release.
